Selecting the programmable Memory Module
The Dialog box gives you a list of the SIEMENS EPROM and EEPROM Modules with their ID Number (MLFB Number). This is the code printed on each module. The corresponding programming number, the memory size, and the memory organization (word, block, or byte) is also displayed.
After selecting a module, its parameters are displayed in a separate dialog box. In addition to the parameters displayed in the module selection dialog box, information about the hardware key, the location of the memory devices (ID-number of the EPROM/EEPROM) and the actual selected mode is available.
Erasing
EEPROM Modules may be erased with the EPROMMER.
SYSID Files
System-Identification files can be transferred to an EPROM/EEPROM module and may be read from an EPROM/EEPROM module.
Display
The contents of the EPROM/EEPROM modules are displayed.
Reading
Selected Blocks can be read from an EPROM/EEPROM module.
Transfer
S5 Blocks can be transmitted from the PC (file) into the EPROM/EEPROM module and vice versa.
Compare
The contents of the EPROM/EEPROM module may be compared with selected Blocks or with all Blocks.
Erase Check
The EPROM / EEPROM module is checked for any remaining date.
The S5/S7 for Windows® Flash PROMMER is used to program the new Memory Cards (Flash PROMMS) for the S5 and the S7-300® and S7-400® PLC series.
The Flash PROMMER is handled in exactly the same way as the S5 for Windows® EPROMMER.
The Module Selection dialog box is extended and lists the new Memory Cards for selection. The Flash PROMMER is also connected via the parallel printer port of the PC.
All the options such as erasing, displaying, reading, transferring, comparing, and the erase check are also available for the Flash PROMMER.
